EXIT: MANHATTAN is the latest serial art project by
Scott W. Parker. In the next eight months Parker will create drawings,
paintings and linoleum
block prints of all the bridges and tunnels linking the island of Manhattan
to New Jersey and the boroughs on Long Island. Every thoroughfare will
have an individual work made from each side. The work will be addressed
from an elevated view looking obliquely down at the subject thus giving
the best vantage of the immensity and scope of the urbanscape that
is New York City. Upon completion there will be an extensive portfolio
celebrating
the arteries of New York City.
