A painting of Pu'u 'O'o is what we want to see. Why no photo of it's
creation? Could it be that a fast getaway prevented Scott from taking
the photo while saving his life from the searing heat of the lava? We

Could these photos be evidence of the danger involved
in making the painting above? No. They are evidence of man's puny attempts
to make a mark on this volcanic landscape. The road may have been the
result of much labor and expense, but it's rendered useless in a moment
of mother nature's fury. The photo on the right is all that remains of
a former five-diamond resort on the slopes of... Oh, nevermind, it's an
outhouse. |
